Media veteran Jim McGlasson steps down from his media sales position, concluding 55 years of service

After nine years of leading advertising sales for our website, Jim McGlasson has announced his retirement, effective at the end of September.

McGlasson joined our website as its inaugural dedicated Advertising Manager in 2016, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his five-decade-long career in the advertising industry. His hiring was an unconventional move, as he was found through a Craigslist ad.

Prior to joining our website, McGlasson moved to Vegas in 1987, where he served as General Manager of the Las Vegas Sun. His career was chronicled last October by Mark Gruetze in an article.

During his tenure at our website, McGlasson has been instrumental in negotiating a Joint Operating Agreement with the Las Vegas Review-Journal and helping to grow and secure the success of our platform. He has enjoyed his association with our Publisher Emeritus Jeffrey Compton and Publisher Cory Roberts, as well as the entire team at CDC.

McGlasson is proud of his contributions to our website and is looking forward to spending more time with his wife and visiting his grandkids in Portland. He considers his time working with CDC as a wonderful experience and a great way to end his fifty-plus years in publishing.

Our website thanks McGlasson for his extraordinary contribution to the company over the last nine years and wishes him all the best in his retirement. We will be seeking a driven individual to lead client relationships and sales following McGlasson's departure.

In his successful career journey, McGlasson not only excelled in the traditional field of advertising but also ventured into sports-betting. His publishing career, spanning over fifty years, took an unexpected turn when he moved to Vegas in 1987, a city known for its sports and sports-betting scene.
