MDU Licenses Not Approved by Sheridan Commission

In a recent meeting, the Sheridan County Commission made a decision that will halt the proposed power line installations on County Road 111, also known as Box Cross Road. The commission has denied two County License Agreements that would have allowed the installation of overhead power lines.

The decision comes after a thorough discussion among the commission members, with Commissioner Michael Arzy expressing his intention to vote against the power line installations. Holly Jennings, another commissioner, was also involved in the decision-making process.

Local residents have been vocal in their opposition to the license agreements, voicing their concerns at the commission's last meeting. At the meeting, several residents spoke against allowing the power line installations.

The commission's decision was not made lightly. They considered the issue and the opinions of the local residents who opposed the power line installations. However, it was concluded that the commission does not have the authority to decide on whether the power lines should be overhead, underground, or to find alternate routes for the power lines.

As a result of the denial of the License Agreements, the proposed power line installations on County Road 111 will not proceed as planned. No alternative decision was made by the commission regarding the power line installations. Furthermore, no member of the commission has been identified as supporting the power line installations after the denial of the License Agreements.

The commission's rejection of the two licensing agreements that had previously been challenged by local residents marks a significant step in addressing the concerns of the community. The commission will continue to consider the needs and opinions of the residents as they move forward.
