MCU's 'Eyes of Wakanda' Trailer Unveils a New Aspect of the Marvel Universe

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new limited series is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 1st. Titled "Eyes of Wakanda", this four-episode anthology miniseries delves into the history and culture of Wakanda, focusing on the Hatut Zaraze, an elite group of secret Wakandan warriors.

The series is not about the Black Panther, but rather, it centers on these Wakandan warriors and their dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. The story begins in 1260 BC and follows Noni (voiced by Winnie Harlow), a disgraced former member of the Dora Milaje, tasked with tracking a figure known as the "Lion" (voiced by Cress Williams), who stole key Wakandan technology and formed a pirate empire.

The series also introduces a female Iron Fist character, voiced by Jona Xiao, set generations before Danny Rand’s time, adding another layer of Marvel history to the series.

Todd Harris, who has a history with the Black Panther films, serves as the showrunner and director of "Eyes of Wakanda". The series is produced by Ryan Coogler.

While the Black Panther legacy influences the series, the story mainly explores the roles of other Wakandan heroes and villains in a broader historical context. As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding additional episodes or continuation beyond this initial run. However, given the series' intriguing premise and its setting in a pocket of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that seems worthy of more than four episodes, there is a possibility that more episodes may be produced if the series performs well.

The cast for "Eyes of Wakanda" includes Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, JonaXiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose.

With its unique blend of action, adventure, and historical insight, "Eyes of Wakanda" promises to be an exciting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mark your calendars for August 1st, when this new limited series premieres on Disney+.
