McLaughlin-Levrone smashes the yearly record in the 400m hurdles, clocking the swiftest time.

A thrilling display of athletic prowess graced the grand stage as athletes battled it out in the 400m and 100m races during a recent event, with American victories claiming the top positions.

25-year-old sensation Dalilah Muhammad clinched the women's 400m hurdles in an impressive time of 52.07 seconds, edging out Jamaica's Andrenette Knight who crossed the finish line at 54.08, in a wind breeze of 1.3 m/sec. "I'm pleased with my second race of the year," Muhammad said, expressing her contentment with her performance, despite some room for improvement.

Muhammad's stunning victory saw her taking her World Championship and Olympic gold medals tally to three, following her Olympic triumphs in Tokyo and Paris, and her world record-breaking run in August 2022 in France where she achieved an incredible 50.37 seconds.

In the men's 400m race, Jacory Patterson outran his competitors, crossing the finish line in a 2025 world-best time of 43.98 seconds. Jereem Richards from Trinidad and Tobago followed close behind with 44.32. Lucky lane placement aided Patterson's victory, as he detailed, "I didn't feel anything. I was able to run my own race."

Patterson, who is a delivery service truck loader on the overnight shift, managed to accomplish his ultimate goal, stating, "I came here to make money, focus on training, and quit this job. Winning gives me confidence and momentum, we're going to keep working and rolling with it."

Turning to the sprinting events, Kenny Bednarek, the 200m runner-up at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics and 2022 world championships, claimed the men's 100 meters in a wind-aided 9.79 seconds, narrowly outpacing Jamaica's Oblique Seville who finished second with 9.84. The extraordinary performance left Bednarek feeling invigorated, saying, "Emotions are high. I knew I was capable of winning times like this. This was a pretty good race. I'm dangerous."

Ackera Nugent from Jamaica took the women's 100 meters with a time of 11.09, equaling her personal best and narrowly defeating compatriot Megan Tapper by 0.24 seconds in a windy +0.9 m/sec.

Despite Michael Johnson's remarkable 43.03 seconds 400m world record in 1999 [3] and Usain Bolt's standout 9.58 seconds 100m world record in 2009 [3], which are still unmatched, the recent performances in these races were nothing short of spectacular.

France served as the venue for Dalilah Muhammad's record-breaking run in the women's 400m hurdles, showcasing her impressive athletic prowess in sports. In the same tournament, Kenny Bednarek, an accomplished sprinter, claimed victory in the men's 100 meters, solidifying his place among the competitive ranks of American athletes in sports.
