McDermott of the Bills announces that Ed Oliver and Matt Milano will not play against the Dolphins.

The Buffalo Bills are set to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season, but they will be doing so without two key defensive players. According to reports, both Ed Oliver and Matt Milano will be absent due to injuries.

Oliver, the team's defensive tackle, missed the Bills' last win over the New York Jets due to an ankle injury sustained during practice. Linebacker Matt Milano, on the other hand, exited the game against the Jets with a pectoral muscle injury, a problem that has plagued him in the past, forcing him to miss nearly half the 2024 season.

In the absence of Oliver and Milano, TJ Sanders is likely to step in as the interim starter at nose tackle, while Shaq Thompson, if cleared to play, could take over at middle linebacker. However, the Bills' defense is a cause for concern against the Dolphins due to these injuries.

Despite the defensive setbacks, the Bills' offense has been performing admirably this season. They started the season with a bang, scoring 41 points against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 and 30 points against the New York Jets in Week 2. The team won their Week 2 game against the Jets with a score of 30-10.

Despite the injury concerns, the Bills are still clear favourites to win their Thursday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Josh Allen, despite a broken nose, remains the best player on both teams. However, the Dolphins, currently in a slump, have the potential to upset the Bills if the Bills' defense gets undermanned due to injuries.

Coach Herm Edwards, ever the optimist, sums it up perfectly with his famous quote, 'You play to win the game!' The Bills will undoubtedly be aiming to do just that when they take on the Dolphins in Week 3.
