MBU Director Alexander Severyanov steps down from his role during the "Ritual" period
In the Siberian city of Yakutsk, a series of complaints have been lodged against Aleksandr Severyanov, a deputy of the Yakutsk City Duma from the "Fair Russia - For Truth" party, regarding his entrepreneurial activities connected to city cemeteries.
The main focus of these complaints has been on Severyanov's tenure as the director of MBOU "Ritual", a municipal burial services organisation, particularly in relation to the Viluiskoye Cemetery.
The allegations against Severyanov include:
- Conflict of Interest and Private Business Activities: Severyanov was accused of using his official position for personal gain, as he was alleged to have conducted private entrepreneurial ventures related to cemetery services.
- Complaints from Cemetery Visitors and Relatives: Reports of dissatisfaction were made by people using the services, concerning increased fees, lack of transparency, and possible monopolization of certain cemetery services by companies linked to Severyanov.
- Mismanagement of Cemetery Operations: Specific complaints pointed to questionable management practices at the Viluiskoye Cemetery, including improper handling of burial plots and difficulties for citizens in arranging burials without going through private intermediaries allegedly associated with Severyanov.
Due to these grievances and potential ethical breaches, local authorities decided not to renew Severyanov's contract as director to address the conflicts and restore trust in the municipal cemetery services.
Prior to his appointment at MBOU "Ritual", Severyanov had worked in the internal affairs organs of the republic and in the housing and communal services sector, holding positions such as the chairman of the board of TSHZ "Borisovka-10" and the director of LLC "Borisovka-1".
Water is not draining at the Viluiskoye Cemetery, and local workers predict that the flooding problem will worsen with the onset of autumn. This issue remains unresolved.
Severyanov was appointed as the director of MBOU "Ritual" in August 2024. However, the reason for not renewing his contract upon expiration remains unknown. Severeanov himself reported a lack of funds at the enterprise to YI. Severyanov's total work experience is over 28 years, with 13 years spent in managerial positions.
The complaints against Aleksandr Severyanov, a deputy in Yakutsk City Duma, have expanded to encompass his role in politics and general-news, as they involve potential conflicts of interest and questionable management practices in his position as a director of MBOU "Ritual", a municipal burial services organization, specifically at Viluiskoye Cemetery. The allegations also include crime-and-justice concerns, such as mismanagement of cemetery operations and monopolization of certain services by companies linked to Severyanov. The local authorities' decision not to renew Severyanov's contract was made to address these grievances and restore trust in municipal cemetery services.
