The final curtain call will be on New Year's Eve. This momentous decision marks the end of an era dating back to 2002 for Geissler and the Mitteldeutscher BC.
Known as a force to be reckoned with, Geissler has been the backbone of the business operations since 2008, serving as managing partner of MBM GmbH since 2016. His responsibilities span across sports management (hiring coaches and players), marketing, and managing league and association work. He first joined the club back in 2002, taking charge of press relations, and rapidly ascended to team manager in 2004.
His impressive tenure has seen numerous accomplishments, including ProA championships and promotions to the Bundesliga in 2009, 2012, and 2017. The club even clinched a third-place finish in the women's Bundesliga Toyota DBBL. However, the crowning achievement came last season, with the club hosting the prestigious BBL Pokal Final4 and celebrating its first national title. This historic season also marked the club's first participation in the German championship playoffs in 24 years!
