MAZ-SPORTauto's Viazovich Leads Early, Crashes Out; Teammates Secure Top-6 in Silk Way Rally
The 'MAZ-SPORTauto' team, led by Sergei Viazovich, had a promising start at the 'Silk Way' rally, leading after eight stages. However, their hopes for victory were dashed when they rolled over at the beginning of the ninth stage, unable to complete the race.
The Silk Way rally-marathon 2025, spanning over 4800 km, took place along the route of Irkutsk - Ulan Bator - Gorno-Altaisk, connecting diverse landscapes. It involved 100 crews on various vehicles, with approximately 1400 km of the event being special stages.
Despite the setback, Sergei Viazovich's crew managed to secure third place in the general classification. Meanwhile, Pavel and Vitaly Murylev of 'MAZ-SPORTauto' finished fifth and sixth respectively. Notably, Pavel Murylev's crew was the best-performing Belarusian truck in the rally, placing seventh overall. The top two spots were taken by Eduard Nikolaev and Bogdan Karimov of 'KAMAZ-master'.
The 'Silk Way' rally concluded with mixed fortunes for the 'MAZ-SPORTauto' team. While Sergei Viazovich's crew had to abandon the race after a rollover, their teammates secured respectable positions. The event, connecting the shores of Baikal, the sands of Mongolia, and the foothills of the Altai, proved challenging yet rewarding for the participating crews.
