The Syktyvkar Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) has announced a cross procession scheduled to take place on August 31, 2023, in the city of Syktyvkar.

The religious event, an important part of the Orthodox Christian tradition, will begin at St. Kazan Church and follow a route that includes several churches, landmarks, and significant sites.

The procession will make its way along Perm St., Northern St., School St., Savina St., Kirova St., and St. Ascension Church. The route also includes International St., Tentyukovskaya St., and Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God.

The procession will pass over the Chovyu River at Lower Chov and visit the Memorial Chapel of the Victims of Political Repressions. It will also stop at Theophany Spring and Church of the Nativity of Christ.

The procession will proceed along Freedom St. and end at St. Stefan Cathedral, where a memorial meal will be held at Reydovaya St., 7.

The cross procession has received approval from the city administration and has been published in a corresponding decree. The event is being organized by the Russian Orthodox Church.
