Maxwell Anderson received a life sentence for the murder of Sade Robinson.
Maxwell Anderson, a 34-year-old man, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on August 1, 2025, for the gruesome murder of 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson in Milwaukee. The crime, which occurred in March 2024, shocked the community due to its violent nature and highlighted ongoing violence against Black women and girls.
Anderson was found guilty by a jury on June 6, 2025, of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, and arson related to the killing. He was also convicted of dismembering Robinson's body and setting her car on fire.
The killing occurred after Anderson and Robinson went on a first date at a Milwaukee restaurant. Robinson was reported missing shortly after the date, and her remains were later found scattered.
At the sentencing hearing, multiple members of Robinson's family spoke, including her father, Carlos Robinson. In a heart-wrenching statement, he expressed his feelings about losing his daughter in such a horrific manner.
During the hearing, Anderson expressed hope for true justice. However, he also spoke on his own behalf, maintaining his innocence. He has since announced plans to appeal the conviction.
In a moving impact statement during the sentencing hearing, Robinson's mother condemned Anderson for his actions and expressed the deep pain caused by the crime. She called for justice for her daughter and for other Black women and girls who have fallen victim to violence.
