Max Verstappen found relief after witnessing Romain Grosjean's miraculous escape from a horrific car crash during the Bahrain Grand Prix. The incident occurred in the third curve of the first round, following a collision between Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat.

Grosjean described seeing death moments before his car shattered into two halves, immediately catching fire. Dramatic footage from the scene showed Grosjean emerging from the flaming wreckage 28 seconds later.

"I was relieved to see Romain escape the car," Verstappen remarked. "It's astonishing how safe an F1 car is. It's incredible he managed to get out of the car so easily."

As Verstappen returned to the pits, he could see the flames and felt a sense of unease. "I asked over the radio, 'Is he out? Is he out?' Then we saw footage of him exiting the car, and it was a profound moment."

Grosjean was immediately taken to the hospital with minor burns on his hand, and by Wednesday he had been discharged from the Bahrain Defense Hospital (BDH) to continue his private burn treatment in the country.

Despite the harrowing incident, Verstappen and other drivers remained committed to returning to the track. They understood the inherent risks associated with the sport and were determined to complete the race in Bahrain.

After a prolonged pause, the competition resumed, and Verstappen ultimately finished in second place, behind Lewis Hamilton. He currently ranks third in the Driver Standings, having claimed one race victory throughout the season.

The Formula 1 community's reaction to Grosjean's miraculous escape served as a powerful reminder of the safety measures in place, ensuring drivers can withstand even the most severe accidents.
