Max Kruse Secures New Position in Television Expertdom

Max Kruse, a renowned football figure with a rich playing career, has taken on a new role as a TV expert for RTL's live broadcasts of 2. Bundesliga matches and the Europa League (Europapokal) Matchday show.

Kruse, who has played for multiple clubs including Union Berlin, Werder Bremen, SC Freiburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfL Wolfsburg, and his last club SC Paderborn, will provide expert analysis, tactical insights, and commentary during these football broadcasts. His duties also include delivering razor-sharp insights and engaging discussions, enhancing the viewing experience with his deep knowledge as a former national player.

The Cologne-based media company announced that Kruse will join RTL’s sports expert team alongside Felix Kroos and Patrick Helmes starting September 2025[1][2]. Kruse has expressed enthusiasm for this role, highlighting his continued passion for football, now brought to television coverage from a new angle[2].

This addition aims to strengthen RTL’s sports coverage, complementing live matches with expert opinion to give fans a more comprehensive understanding of the events on screen[1][2]. However, the specific sports events Kruse will be working on at RTL and Nitro are not specified.

Meanwhile, Nils Petersen, who has moved to DAZN, will no longer be in use for the RTL group. The reason for Petersen's departure is his move to the streaming service[1]. Patrick Helmes and Felix Kroos will continue to work as RTL experts.
