Maura Higgins receives €20,000 Hermès Birkin after The Traitors betrayal
Maura Higgins, a former Love Island star, has received a Hermès Birkin bag worth around €20,000 from Rob Rausch. The gift came after their time together on The Traitors US season 4, which wrapped up in early March 2026. Rausch, who played as a traitor, had promised the luxury bag as a personal apology for betraying her trust during the show.
The pair first connected during Love Island USA in 2023 and 2024, where Rausch's appearances helped build Higgins' confidence in him. When they later competed on The Traitors, he repeatedly suggested gifting her a Birkin bag if she reached the finale. Higgins admitted she never doubted he would follow through, given his earnings from reality TV.
Rausch financed the bag himself, despite not yet winning the show's prize money. He enlisted Lisa Rinna's help to secure the purchase in New York City, using her connections to track one down. The bag served as a direct apology for deceiving Higgins during the game, where he played the role of a traitor. Meanwhile, Higgins has embraced her reputation as a chronic 'Irish exiter'—someone who leaves social gatherings without saying goodbye. She recently partnered with Uber for a campaign called *IrishXit*, offering 17% off UberX rides nationwide from March 13 to 17.
The Birkin bag has now been delivered, fulfilling Rausch's promise. Higgins, who never expected a formal goodbye from Rausch, has instead gained a high-value gift tied to their shared reality TV history. The campaign with Uber also highlights her playful take on her own social habits.
