Matt O'Riley's Impressive Debut Helps Marseille Thrash Ajax 4-0

Matt O'Riley, the surprise player for Marseille, made his debut after joining on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. He played a pivotal role in their 4-0 victory against Ajax.

The Belgian reigned on the left of the double pivot, active and well-placed. His flat pass to Aubameyang for OM's opening goal was magnificent, breaking two opponent lines.

After Medina's exit, O'Riley shifted left to position Egan-Riley. He also made a crucial intervention in his box, blocking a dangerous cross from Oscar Gloukh.

The Brazilian winger, Oscar, answered with a double in 12 minutes, capitalising on O'Riley's calm first period of defence.

O'Riley brilliantly directed Marseille's backline, with Medina and Pavard on his sides. He also made a superb save on Taylor during Ajax's strong period.
