The 36-year-old Hummels called time on his football career just a few days ago. He had been pounding the Italian Serie A turf for AS Roma since September 2024, having departed Borussia Dortmund at the end of the previous season.
Hummels has got plenty of hardware to show off, too, with five German League titles and three DFB Cup wins to his name. Wearing the blue and white of Bayern and Dortmund, Hummels was instrumental in their success under coach Jürgen Klopp, helping the latter capture the championship in 2011 and 2012, as well as the DFB Cup in 2012. His highest honor, however, came in 2014 as a member of the German national team, when he brought home the World Cup trophy. Along the way, he netted five goals in a respectable 78 appearances for Die Mannschaft.
