The district championships 2025/2026 are fast approaching, and the excitement is palpable. This year's event promises to be a grand spectacle, with various sports competitions taking place across different disciplines.

The tournament has a rich history, with the first district tennis championship held in 1984 by Wenzel Neumann. Over the years, it has grown exponentially, thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers, sponsors, and the local community.

This year, the winners of the Herren A category were Michael Henning (Neutraubling), Christian Hopf (Kareth-Lappersdorf), and Marwin Rist (Obertraubling). In the Herren A Nebenrunde, Simon Klein (SpVgg Hainsacker), Yannick Throm (Kareth-Lappersdorf), and Sascha Raicevic emerged victorious. The Herren 60 category saw Christian Schweiger (Großberg), Klaus Huber (Riedenburg), and Simon Günther (TST Grünthal) as the champions.

In the youth categories, Anna-Lia Kimmerling, Olivia Zweck, Theresia Schindler, Raphael Grübler, Jonas Leberkern, Till Schneider, Stefanie Kusiek, Leana Abel, Sabrina Zimmermann, and several other young talents took home the district champion titles in their respective age groups.

The 'masters' class (singles between 18 and 40 years) also saw some intense competition. Michael Henning, Christian Hopf, Marwin Rist, Stefanie Kusiek, Leana Abel, and Sabrina Zimmermann were crowned the district champions.

The organisational duties for the Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shooting are entrusted to the Section 'Am Wenzenbach', for Cyclo-Cross to Wörth 1837, and for Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding to Ski Club Neutraubling and TV Schierling.

The tournament has been running smoothly due to the help of Dr. Gerhard Ulrich, Harald Semmler, Susanne Wulf, Alexander Wulf, Corinna Kraus, and their teams. The long-standing press officer for the tournament, Georg Barth, has been instrumental in keeping the public informed.

Tobias Koch, Andrea Reinisch, Letitia Piot, and Harald Bauer, along with Eva Seyfferth, have been actively supporting the tournament for many years. Their dedication and hard work have been crucial in ensuring the tournament's success.

Without the support of volunteer helpers, the tournament of this magnitude would not be possible. Councilor Tanja Schweiger led the award ceremony for the district tennis championships, marking the culmination of months of hard work and competition.

The event dates for further district championships include Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shooting from 23 September to 26 October 2025, Cyclo-Cross on 19 October 2025, and Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding on 7 February 2026.

For any queries or information regarding the district championships, you can contact Mrs. Zeller at the Regensburg County Administration, Department of Economy, Regional Development and Sport, Phone: 0941 4009 663, or send an email to [email protected].

The district championships 2025/2026 are a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and community in our district. We look forward to another exciting season of competition and camaraderie.
