Massive Norton Heath Housing Development Proposed for Leicestershire

A massive housing development, Norton Heath, is proposed for Norton Juxta Twycross in Leicestershire. The project, submitted by Midlands Engine Investment Fund, will span 700 hectares and include 10,000 new homes, spread over four decades. Residents have until November 28 to share their thoughts on the local plan.

Norton Heath aims to tackle housing shortages and enhance transport links in the area. The mega-hub will be divided into three connected villages and feature a range of amenities. These include schools, healthcare facilities, sports and leisure centers, shops, and accessible public open spaces.

The development is set to deliver a quarter of its properties by 2045. However, the proposal has sparked controversy among locals. Some residents have raised concerns about insufficient infrastructure and potential environmental impacts.

Midlands Engine Investment Fund's Norton Heath project, if approved, will significantly transform Norton Juxta Twycross. With 10,000 new homes and various facilities, it aims to address housing needs and improve the area. Public feedback is currently being sought to help shape the final plans.
