The 2025 PCRRC Summer Regatta, held at Peterborough’s Thorpe Meadows, was a spectacle of rowing prowess as clubs from across the UK and Ireland gathered to compete in over 300 races. With 66 events on the agenda, the two-day event was filled with tense finishes, exciting races, and standout performances.

The highlight of the regatta was Leeds Rowing Club, who dominated the competition, taking home the Victor Ludorum trophy with an impressive haul of 13 gold, 9 silver, and 18 bronze medals. Leeds athletes shone in various events, securing gold in the Women’s Band 2 Pairs, Open Band 1 Single Scull (“Evans”), and Women’s J14 Double Sculls, among others[1][2][3].

Simultaneously, the Maidenhead Regatta was also underway, attracting rowers from across the region. While detailed full race results from Maidenhead are less complete, the event was part of the big UK rowing weekend, with competitive club participation and strong performances noted[1].

The opening race of the Open Band 3 Single Sculls had a nail-biting finish, with Burway RC’s 'Mullins' edging out Marlow RC by just one foot. The final race of the day saw an equally close finish in the Open Explore Coxed Quads, with Maidenhead 'Boeg' beating Broxbourne RC by three feet.

The Maidenhead Summer Regatta is a significant event for Maidenhead Rowing Club, featuring a variety of boat classes for both junior and senior rowers. There was also a social media post highlighting the U19 Women’s Eights team’s pursuit of gold for Great Britain.

Notably, the U23 World Champion, Liv Cheesmur, shared her racing experiences and time at Molesey BC on the podcast 'On The End of The Island'.

Leeds RC’s men’s team also made their mark, winning in the Band 1 Single Sculls and the Band 2 Women’s Quadruple Sculls. The composite crew from Glasgow University BC, Strathclyde Park RC, and Leeds University BC won the Band 1 Women's Quadruple Sculls.

For those with stories to share from the regatta, an invitation was extended to email Fergus Mainland at our website. The results of the day’s races can be viewed here. The results from the Eastbourne Regatta, Bexhill Regatta, and Stourport Regatta from the previous week are also available.
