Expo City Dubai was a buzz of activity on August 10, 2025, as it played host to the 78th Independence Day celebration organised by Emirates Loves Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan Association Dubai. The event, which ran from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, attracted over 60,000 attendees, making it the largest celebration of Pakistan's Independence Day in the UAE to date.
The day began with the "Parade of Unity," featuring over 15 cultural and community groups representing Pakistan’s diverse provinces, professions, and traditions. The parade was a vibrant spectacle, with participants marching in colourful attire, waving flags, and performing traditional dances.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed non-stop cultural performances on multiple stages. The entertainment ranged from traditional dances and Sufi melodies to regional folk music and musical mashups, showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. There were also food stalls offering authentic Pakistani cuisine and craft exhibitions.
Prominent dignitaries, including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, were the main guests of honour. Sheikh Nahyan delivered a speech emphasizing the strong ties between the UAE and Pakistan and congratulated Pakistanis contributing to the UAE’s prosperity.
The event was supported by Dubai Police, and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority extended metro services until 2 AM to accommodate attendees. Careem offered a 15% ride discount with promo code ELPAD15. There was ample parking with options for reservation.
As evening set in, the entertainment on the main stage reached a new level. Natasha Baig, a Sufi rock star, brought her magnetic energy and soulful sound to the crowd. Sahir Ali Bagga, a popular music producer and singer from Pakistan, performed with powerful vocals. Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, a storyteller and cultural icon, mesmerized audiences with tales that captured the soul of Pakistan.
The performances continued into the night, promising an unforgettable experience of rhythm, meaning, and magic. Gates closed at 6:00 PM, so it is recommended to come as early as possible to enjoy a huge lineup of performances by singers and artists from different parts of Pakistan.
