In response, Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, sounded the alarm via Telegram, "Reports of damages to residential buildings and fires. Rescue services are on the scene."[2]
Simultaneously, emergency services were scrambled to four Kyiv districts, including the historical Podil neighbourhood. As reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, heavy anti-aircraft fire erupted over the capital, accompanied by explosive detonations, as per the RBK-Ukraine news agency[2]. The Ukrainian air force accurately tallied damages in six out of ten districts, with at least one woman sustaining injuries[2].
Evidently, the carnage did not stop at Kyiv. The southern port city of Odesa bore the brunt of Moscow's aggression, with Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov confirming a fatality caused by a "massive" drone attack that also left three others injured. The deceased was a 59-year-old male. The onslaught included assaults on a maternity ward, an emergency medical center, and residential buildings[2].
