Massive 100-Million-Euro Recreational Area in Samobor Officially Opens
New Gigantic Logistics and Distribution Center Opens Its Doors
June 8th, 2025 - After seven long years of preparation, the giant 100 million euro Samobor RC Zone has finally opened its doors! The first phase of Croatia's largest logistics and distribution center is now up and running. Spanning 43,000 square meters, five tenants will be utilizing this space for their logistics needs.
As Ana Roksandic from Poslovni Dnevnik reports, the new Samobor RC Zone is now operational. Behind this ambitious project is the Czech RC Europe group.
The next phase is already underway, with the completed complex set to extend over an impressive 86,000 square meters, making it the largest logistics and distribution center in Croatia. This state-of-the-art facility is strategically located just 12 kilometers from the heart of Zagreb along the A3 highway connecting Croatia and Slovenia.
Tenants can utilize the space for various purposes including storage, production, or office operations. The initial tenants hail from well-known brands such as DB Schenker, Milšped, Logaritam, Commel Zagreb, and drogerie markt Hrvatska (dm).

THE ROAD TO SAMOBOR RC ZONE: CHALLENGES GALORE
The journey to the Samobor RC Zone was far from seamless. With more than 300 landowners to buy out, the land acquisition was the most daunting task. In addition, obtaining all the necessary permits proved to be challenging but was surmountable compared to the land-buying battle.

The decision to establish the logistics and distribution center in Samobor was primarily driven by its well-developed road network and strategic location. The Bobovica economic zone offers optimum advantages for investors, with excellent connectivity to Zagreb and nearby cities, as well as other parts of the country.
Moreover, the cooperation of the Samobor city administration played a crucial role in securing the project. The city's mayor, Petra Škrobot, praised Samobor for its rich entrepreneurial traditions and expressed the city's commitment to supporting investors.

GREEN LIGHT FOR OPERATIONS IN MAY 2025
In May 2025, the Samobor RC Zone received its operating permit. The funding for the project came from both the investors' own funds and a loan from UniCredit Bank. The team is currently seeking tenants for the second phase, with an anticipated opening date set for next year.

The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar, the Czech Ambassador Milan Hovorka, the Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County Ervin Kolarec, and Miloslav Hartman, the other co-owner of RC Europe. Minister Šušnjar praised the new Samobor RC Zone as a powerful example of Croatia establishing itself as a logistics hub for goods from both the East and the West.
