Berlin - Breaking the silence: In a thrilling turn of events, Delay Sports has set its sights on a top-notch training ground in Berlin, and our website has the lowdown on where exactly it's at.

Here's the tea:

  • Delay Sports acquires a renowned training ground previously owned by regional league club Viktoria Berlin
  • The epic property at Wildspitzweg in Mariendorf spans an impressive 75,000 square meters
  • Viktoria Berlin sells the property following their relegation to the amateur class
  • Delay Sports envisions artificial turf pitches, a training hall, break rooms, and a lively community hub
  • The deal might involve the help from Regionalliga newcomers BFC Preussen, although the details are still under wraps

The Wildspitzweg Dream: A New Home for Delay Sports

Elias "Eli" Nerlich (27) dropped a bombshell announcement on May 23: "Prepare for the most important notary appointment of my career!" And it looks like we're in for a surprise!

Our website knows the scoop: It's a massive property at Wildspitzweg (district Mariendorf).

Could former Union players bring this Berlin club into the Regionalliga Nordost?

Delay Sports hadn't yet spoken up when we reached out for comment. Instead, Eli took to Instagram on Monday, teasing a video reveal of their new home.

Interestingly, the ground has been the home turf of Regionalliga club Viktoria Berlin, who've hoped to step up as a force rivaling Hertha and Union in the capital. But their hopes were dashed on Sunday when they were relegated from the 4th league, leaving them to focus on amateur football moving forward.

Time for Delay Sports to Shine

Eli Nerlich, Sidney Friede (27), and the rest of Delay Sports have been showing impressive growth since the club's inception in 2021. They've been steadily climbing their way up the ranks, and their home games have been played on borrowed pitches - but that's about to change!

From Wildspitzweg to a Football and Community Hub

A few weeks ago, Eli gave his fans a sneak peek of his plans for the property during a livestream: "I've got big things planned for it."

The plans include artificial turf pitches, a cutting-edge training hall for winter use, and break rooms to foster a vibrant club culture. And the fun doesn't stop there – a burger joint and kebab stand are on the menu too!

It's still unclear what the future holds for Viktoria Berlin. The pros have been training here, and their coach's office has been based on the ground. A usage contract for Viktoria Berlin was reportedly discussed, but it remains to be seen if it will be extended.

An insider told our website that the property hasn't seen much change since its acquisition at the end of 2020, apart from a modernization of the stone functional building that houses offices.

Hefty Investments Ahead for Delay Sports

The ultimate dream comes at a cost! We're looking at several million euros of investment funds being pumped into the project.

Eli proudly declared, "I can tell you, that's so crazy expensive!"

Viktoria Berlin Sells Out, What Role Does BFC Preussen Play?

Our sources say the purchase price for the approximately 75,000 square meter property is said to be a hefty multiple million amount. But the financing details remain to be seen.

It's all hush-hush for now, but Regionalliga newcomers BFC Preussen are rumored to be part of the deal. Their sports director, Pierre Seiffert, claimed in a recent interview that he wouldn't "participate in speculations."

But he did promise a joint press release from both clubs soon. In the meantime, the shareholders of the seller, Home for Viktoria Berlin GmbH & Co. KG, will likely benefit from the sale, as they've grappled with financial troubles for quite some time now, with players and third parties repeatedly reporting unpaid salaries.

Instead, Delay Sports aims to catch attention with high-quality football at the same location in the future.
