Mass Killings: A Routine Tragedy

Mass Killings: A Routine Tragedy

Welcome to the brutal, unforgiving world that's about to unfold, my friend! Brace yourself as I lay out the ugly truth about the state of play in the Middle East, specifically focusing on the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and the West Bank.

Joe Biden's farewell gift to Israel, worth a whopping $8 billion in military arms sales, screams volumes about the genocide that's been happening in Gaza. This isn't the end; it's just the beginning. We're looking at an endless, barbaric war, aimed not at destroying Hamas or freeing Israeli hostages, but at eradicating, once and for all, the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

It's the final push for a Greater Israel, including expansions into chunks of Lebanon and Syria. This is the ultimate goal of the Zionist movement, and if successful, it will leave rivers of blood flowing from Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians. Avi Dichter, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Israel, admitted that mass extermination is a time-consuming and expensive endeavor, but with powerful allies in the U.S., Israel won't have to worry about the bill.

The U.S. has provided Israel with a staggering $17.9 billion in military aid over a single year—that's a significant upgrade from the already $3.8 billion the U.S. gives Israel each year. And on top of that, another $8 billion in weapons purchases is on the table. These arms will stock their arsenal with more GPS guidance systems for bombs, artillery shells, fighter jet and helicopter missiles, and large numbers of MK-84 bombs. These bombs have a habit of obliterating tent encampments in Gaza, destroying life within a 400-yard radius and leaving a 50-foot-wide and 36-foot-deep crater in their wake.

The genocide happening in Gaza sets a sinister precedent. International and humanitarian law have been disregarded in regions like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, even Vietnam, but with this genocide, the U.S. and its European allies are making it clear that these laws are meaningless. We're looking at a Hobbesian world taking shape, where powerful nations with advanced weapons rule, and the weak and vulnerable are forced to submit.

The peoples of the Global South understand this emerging reality all too well. When they lack the sophisticated weapons, modern armies, artillery units, missiles, navies, armored units, and warplanes that powerful nations wield, they resort to using crude tools to strike back at state terror. They employ individual acts of terrorism to counter massive campaigns of state terror, leading to a vicious cycle of violence.

Americans may find themselves asking, 'Why the hatred?' Well, let's be real—terror breeds terror. After all, we've seen it in New Orleans, where a man inspired by ISIS killed 14 people. Make no mistake—the U.S. started it. The twisted mindset of the suicide bomber is a direct result of the moral void created in America.

In frustration, Israel is stepping up its attacks in Gaza, the West Bank, Yemen, and Lebanon, driven by their frustration at the resilience of resistance movements. Members of Israel's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee have escalated their demands for the government to intensify the siege of Gaza, resulting in deadly consequences for the innocent.

Rather than seeking peace and cooperation, Israel's leadership is advocating for decisive victory and cleansing enemy lines, with calls for the removal of energy sources, food sources, water supplies, and the remote elimination of anyone who moves within the besieged area. In essence, their message is simple—exterminate the resistance.

In the heart-wrenching tale of Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. military veteran who drove his truck into a crowd of innocent people in New Orleans, we see a chilling reflection of the barbarous acts committed by Israel and its supporters. Jabbar's actions were a twisted mirror image of the mindset driving the barbarity inflicted on civilians in the Middle East.

Robert Fisk highlights the psychopathy that takes hold of societies that are dispossessed and left to feel powerless against an all-powerful "enemy." As we continue to sow the seeds of violence and hatred, we should expect more Jabbars to emerge.

The Middle East is being transformed into a battleground, and these warriors are rising from the ground, fed by the anger and frustration that the U.S. empire has created. The end result: a global death spiral, accelerated by the ongoing climate crisis. The United Nations and the International Criminal Court are reduced to hollow shells, powerless to stop the carnage that we've unleashed upon the world.
