Anti-Fascist Protest in Bremen: Police Investigate Late July Incident

A violent anti-fascist protest took place in Bremen on July 27th, causing disruption and damage in the city centre. According to reports, approximately 50 hooded individuals paraded through the Steintor district, carrying banners and setting off fireworks.

As the group assembled at the Ziegenmarkt before moving to the Sielwall intersection, officers arrived on the scene. Upon their arrival, around 20 attackers began throwing stones, bottles, and fireworks, leading to the partial shattering of a police car's windshield. Fortunately, the officers inside the car remained unharmed.

Following the incident, 13 suspects were temporarily detained. Among those detained, some were found with Antifa stickers and balaclavas. The ages of the detainees range from 23 to 34, with four women and nine men among them.

The state's security department has taken over the investigation, securing further evidence and traces throughout the night. The public can provide information to the criminal duty office at 0421 362-3888, or submit video or photo material via hb.hinweisportal.
