Mashed Potatoes and Kibbeh Nayeh Mix

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 1 large potato
  • 1/2 cup bulgur (100g)
  • 1/2 tomato
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons peppercorn sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Walnuts for garnish

Preparation

  1. Cook the potato in a microwave (you can also boil it in water).
  2. Rinse the bulgur.
  3. Dice the tomato and onion very finely.
  4. Place the bulgur, tomato, and onion in a bowl and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. While waiting, heat the potatoes, peel them, and mash them with a fork or a potato masher.
  6. Mix all the ingredients together, adding the cumin seeds, salt, and chili powder. Combine well.
  7. Allow it to cool before shaping into small balls.
  8. Pan-fry the balls in olive oil until they are golden brown.
  9. Garnish with walnuts and serve. Enjoy!
