Marvel's Phase 6 schedule, recent updates, rumors, leaks, and further details
Marvel Phase 6 kicks off this summer with the release of "The Fantastic Four: The First Steps," which marks the entry of the legendary superhero group into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr. is set to join the franchise as Doctor Doom, appearing in "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars." "Spider-Man 4" is expected to hit theaters before the two Avengers films.
The Phase 6 lineup also features a handful of TV shows, such as "Eyes of Wakanda" and the Marvel Zombies series. There are, however, several mystery projects under production, with the possibilities of mutants and multiverse chaos as the Multiverse Saga concludes.
Below is a comprehensive list of the major upcoming Phase 6 projects, along with their release dates, casting details, and plot synthesis (where available). For a more extensive rundown of every Marvel movie and show on the horizon, check out our guide to upcoming Marvel projects.

Three additional movies were revealed during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, with another three films reportedly in development for 2028 by Deadline. However, as of now, little is known about these six forthcoming productions.
Fantastic Four
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" will debut in July 2025, representing the first Marvel Phase 6 title. The film brings together a new cast, with The Last of Us' Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Mission: Impossible's Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch).
Julia Garner will play the Silver Surfer, while Ozark's Ralph Ineson is set to portray Galactus, the antagonist of the film. Filming has wrapped, and the first trailer was released on February 4, 2025.
Eyes of Wakanda
"Eyes of Wakanda" is a forthcoming mini-series set to drop on Disney Plus in August 2025. The show focuses on "The Hatut Zaraze," a group of Wakandan warriors that go on dangerous missions to recover vibranium artifacts, weaving directly into Marvel Phase 6 and feeding into future movies.
Marvel Zombies
"Marvel Zombies," unlike "Eyes of Wakanda," takes place in an alternate timeline, making it indirectly linked to the mainline Marvel movies. Scheduled for release on October 3, 2025, the show follows a group of survivors as they combat undead versions of Marvel heroes and villains. The series will consist of four episodes, turning out to be an ideal pre-Halloween treat for horror fans.
Spider-Man 4
"Spider-Man 4" has received a new release date, now arriving before "Avengers: Doomsday." Originally slated to release after the new Avengers movie, the film was initially speculated to be a sequel directly following the events of the flick. However, this connection is no longer valid, and the movie's plot remains a mystery for now. A notable fact is that Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker. Filming is expected to commence this summer, with more news likely to surface as leaks and promotional materials emerge.
Avengers: Doomsday
Originally titled "Avengers 5," "Avengers: Doomsday" is set to be released on December 18, 2026. Directed by the Russo brothers, the movie will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Initially, "Avengers 5" fell under the spotlight for the Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror, but Marvel Studios has been extensively reworking the project, turning it away from Kang. Prior to this change, actor Jonathan Majors, who played Kang in "Loki," was dropped from the role after he was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in December 2023. The script has been penned by "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" writer Michael Waldron, and we also anticipate the inclusion of the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts. Filming is currently underway.
Avengers: Secret Wars
Details about "Avengers: Secret Wars" remain scarce at the moment. The movie is expected to "go out with a bang," according to Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo. In the comics, "Secret Wars" saw Marvel's most powerful superheroes face off against the universe's most formidable villains, making the showdown likely to be quite explosive. The casting lineup is still unknown, although Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, She-Hulk, and the Fantastic Four are rumored to make an appearance. Set to be directed by the Russo brothers and featuring the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts, "Avengers: Secret Wars" will be released on December 17, 2027.
Potential Marvel Phase 6 TV Shows and Movies
Beyond the aforementioned titles, there are several undated or unknown projects lined up for Marvel Phase 6.
Vision
"Vision," a spin-off of "WandaVision," will reportedly follow Paul Bettany's synthezoid hero. Terry Matalas, a Star Trek: Picard EP, is to serve as the showrunner. Filming is expected to start in 2025, with the series scheduled for release in 2026.
Wonder Man
"Wonder Man" is in development as a new Disney Plus series under the 'Marvel Spotlight' banner, joining "Echo" as a street-level, character-driven project from the MCU. Ben Kingsley will reprise his role as the marvelous Trevor Slattery in the project, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will take on the role of Wonder Man. Set to consist of ten episodes, the series is expected to release in December 2025.
Shang-Chi 2
Sequel to "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is officially in development, with Simu Liu and Destin Daniel Cretton set to return. An exact release date has yet to be confirmed, but the movie seems to be on the horizon.
Doctor Strange 3
While there has been no announcement regarding "Doctor Strange 3," the first post-credits scene of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" introduced Clea and revealed that T'Challa's son Toussaint was in Valhalla. Given the title of the Multiverse Saga, it seems likely that Strange's third movie will be part of Phase 6.
Thor 5
Though "Thor 5" remains unconfirmed, the ending of "Thor: Love and Thunder" leaves room for the movie's continuation. A possible plot point hints towards the appearance of Hercules, played by Brett Goldstein in the film, while Idris Elba's Heimdall and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster reside in Valhalla. Another character introduced in "Love and Thunder" was Love, Gorr the God Butcher's daughter, now under the care of Thor. If "Thor 5" does materialize, it seems like it will be part of Phase 6.
X-Men
The inclusion of mutants has been hinted at in the MCU with the introduction of Ms. Marvel, and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever"'s Namor is also a mutant. With the X-Men's arrival in the MCU yet to be confirmed, the possibility of experiencing the iconic superhero team in Phase 6 seems like anything but a long shot.
Black Panther 3
Teasing a potential Black Panther sequel, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" star Letitia Wright suggested that a follow-up was "already in the works." However, with a release date still pending, it remains to be seen whether "Black Panther 3" will indeed become a part of Phase 6.
Other Potential Sequels
Lastly, there are several other potential projects that could fall under Marvel Phase 6, such as a "Moon Knight" season 2 and "Hawkeye" season 2. The fate of these projects will be determined in the coming months.
The Blade movie, originally earmarked for Marvel Phase 6, has been delayed indefinitely, but there is still a chance it could emerge as part of Phase 6. Keep your fingers crossed!
