Revamped Ironheart Trailer Reveals Magical Twist for Riri Williams' Armor

Get ready, Marvel fans! Ironheart, the new streaming series featuring Riri Williams, is set to take a fabulous turn, as the latest trailer introduces a mystical element to Riri's armor - a drastic change from the tech-savvy armor she's known for in the comics.

Check out the trailer here:

What's intriguing is that Riri's armor now seems to possess an energy signature akin to the spells we've come to know from Doctor Strange. In the comics, her armor has been purely technological, a result of her cutting-edge inventions that rival those of Tony Stark.

A sneak peek of Riri's armor can be traced back to her appearance in Black Panther: World of Wakanda, where she initially dons a makeshift suit before using Wakandan technology to build a state-of-the-art armor.

However, this new journey will see Riri delve deeper into uncharted territories, as she unlocks her armor's magical potential in an attempt to combat her formidable villain, the Hood. This demonic foe looks set to push Riri to combine magical elements with her technology, creating an armor unlike anything we've seen before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Though Riri doesn't have a rich history as a magic user in the comics, she has come face-to-face with demonic forces within the Marvel Universe. For instance, during her tenure with the teen superhero team the Champions, she was possessed by Blackheart, the son of Mephisto. Under Blackheart's control, Riri was forced to fight her teammates, only to eventually break free.

Ironheart is set to hit Disney Plus on June 24, marking the final project in Marvel Phase 5. The fantastical Fantastic Four will kick off Marvel Phase 6 in July, and Avengers: Doomsday follows in 2026, with the epic Avengers: Secret Wars arriving in 2027.
