The figures bear a striking resemblance to Bengus' concept art for Marvel vs. Capcapcom 2, with their distinctive designs remaining popular throughout the game's 25-year lifespan. The game, distinguished by its team-building mechanic, technical combat, and vivid visual style, has maintained a lasting presence in the fighting game community even as two more installments have been released.
