Marvel Parts Ways with Jenna Ortega

A Brief Marvel Stint for Jenna Ortega, Now Time to Move On

- Marvel Parts Ways with Jenna Ortega

The breakout star of "Wednesday," Jenna Ortega (22), doesn't dwell on her fleeting Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) experience. In 2013, she made a small appearance in "Iron Man 3" and, quite honestly, feels it's best left in the past. Recently, she shared with "Entertainment Tonight" that her character barely made a ripple, with all her lines being axed from the final cut.

More Than Just a Blip

Ortega, a seasoned actress since the tender age of eight, was merely a passing face in "Iron Man 3." Although she performed as the vice president's granddaughter, her character was wheelchair-bound, hinting at the villains' obsession with Extremis tech, capable of regrowing limbs1. Despite this, her impact was minimal, relegated to a momentary flash on the screen.

Paul Rudd's Optimistic Hopes

Ortega's co-star, Paul Rudd (55), who shares screen time with her in their upcoming film "Death of a Unicorn," expresses a different perspective. He believes the MCU could leverage Jenna Ortega's talent again in the future, proclaiming, "They should be so happy to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise"1. However, the actress seems content to leave her MCU days behind, recalling, "They even took my name off!"

Big Roles Await

With a successful run in "Scream," "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," and the Netflix smash hit "Wednesday," season 2 of which drops later this year, Jenna Ortega is making waves in the acting world. Fashion icons recognize her unique style, and she previously left her mark on series like "Jane the Virgin" and "Stuck in the Middle."

Iron Man, who Ortega briefly crossed paths with in Iron Man 3, is seemingly forgotten by the actress as she spoke about her character's minimal impact in the film. Despite Paul Rudd's optimistic hopes for Ortega's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ortega is forging ahead with her successful acting career, moving beyond her brief Marvel stint.
