Apparently, Scorsese will now be directing Aldeas - A New Story, a feature-length documentary and global cultural project spawned by Scholas Occurrentes, the educational movement conceived by Pope Francis.
Aldeas - A New Story will showcase Pope Francis' final in-depth interview specifically created for this documentary. Before his passing, the pope himself explained the essence of the film, stating, "'Aldeas' is an extremely poetic and constructive project because it delves into the roots of what human life centers around – sociability, human conflicts ... the crux of a life's journey."
Scorsese remarked, "Now more than ever, we need to converse and genuinely listen to each other cross-culturally. One of the best means to achieve this is by swapping our personal stories and experiences. It aids in understanding and appreciating how diverse perspectives influence our worldview." He continued, "Pope Francis deemed it crucial for individuals worldwide to exchange ideas with respect, as well as safeguarding their cultural identity. As of now, no official release date has been unveiled for the movie.
