Marshal Vasilevsky Honoured in Khabarovsk Krai on 130th Birthday

A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Khabarovsk Krai, honouring Marshal Alexander Mikhailovich Vasilevsky at his monument. The event commemorated the 130th anniversary of his birth.

Vasilevsky, a prominent figure in World War II, led the Soviet forces in the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation. This decisive campaign, lasting 24 days from August to September 1945, resulted in the defeat of militarist Japan's military forces. The operation, meticulously planned and executed under Vasilevsky's leadership, marked the end of the war in the Pacific and World War II as a whole.
