Márquez Brothers and Canet Secure Spanish Podium Finishes at Brno Motorcycle Race

The 2025 Czech Republic Grand Prix witnessed a historic moment as Spanish riders Marc Márquez, Alex Márquez, and Aron Canet clinched top positions in their respective categories, marking the first time a triple victory has been achieved by Spanish riders at the Masaryk Circuit.

Marc Márquez, currently leading the MotoGP championship, added another win to his impressive tally, increasing his lead over his rivals. Alex Márquez, competing in Moto2, demonstrated authority by dominating the race from the second corner until the finish line. Aron Canet, in Moto3, secured a thrilling victory after a tense final lap, regaining the lead in the World Championship.

The Moto3 race started accidentally, causing the quick withdrawals of Niccolo Antonelli and John McPhee. The fight for third position in the Moto2 race was far behind by the sixth lap, while the final laps of the Moto3 race were filled with excitement as Aron Canet fought off challenges to secure his victory.

Alex Márquez maintained a significant lead over his pursuers in the Moto2 race, with Fabio Di Giannantonio being the only rider who could keep up with his pace. Marc Márquez, in the MotoGP race, had to perform a famous save during the race, but he managed to maintain his lead and increase his advantage towards the end.

The MotoGP race was delayed and shortened to 20 laps due to rain, but this did not deter Marc Márquez from adding another win to his record, tying fourth place in the victory history with Mike Hailwood, with 76 victories.

Meanwhile, Jaume Masià initially secured a podium position in the Moto3 race, but ultimately gave up the bottom step to Tony Arbolino. Bastianini came from behind to put Jorge Navarro's podium in jeopardy in the Moto2 race, and Tony Arbolino finished third in the Moto3 race at the Czech Republic Grand Prix.

The triple victory underscores the continued dominance of the Márquez brothers in their respective categories and adds another layer to Spain's strong presence in motorcycle racing. Aron Canet’s success in Moto2 adds another layer, showing Spanish riders' strength across multiple classes at the Czech GP, which is especially meaningful as the Masaryk circuit has traditional prestige within international motorcycle racing.

The race drew a massive crowd, amplifying the importance of such a victorious display on home soil for the Spanish riders and enhancing the grand prix’s historical significance.

With these victories, Marc Márquez continues his pursuit to equal Valentino Rossi’s all-time record of seven MotoGP world titles. Alex Márquez, positioned second in the overall standings, gains confidence and valuable points, while Aron Canet benefits strategically from this victory on a challenging track, positioning himself better for the remainder of the season and the championship fight in his category.
