In a shocking turn of events, former Maroon 5 bassist Mickey Madden is facing serious allegations of physical abuse and sexting teenage girls. His wife, Catherine Blair Bowman, has filed court documents in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking a restraining order against him.
According to the filings, Madden is accused of physically assaulting Bowman on July 21, 2025, during a confrontation over texts he is alleged to have sent to an 18-year-old sex worker. The alleged assault occurred after Bowman requested to see Madden's phone to understand their situation better.
Bowman claims that Madden shoved her into a kitchen counter, followed by pushing her to the ground and chasing her outside, continuing the assault by pushing her into a gate. She obtained a temporary restraining order until August 20, citing fear for her life and concerns that Madden might try to find her at work.
The court documents also reveal troubling messages on Madden's phone, suggesting inappropriate and violent sexual communication with teenage girls. The texts contained explicit content, including sexting and discussions of rape fantasies. Madden is also accused of quickly deleting evidence from his phone.
Bowman discovered the alleged texts after being alerted by a teenage girl who informed her of the messages she was receiving from Madden. In a text exchange, Madden described the sexting as "A private and fake harmless fantasy".
Madden insists that the texts had "No bearing on real life at all". The case has been reported by multiple outlets, including TMZ and Billboard.
Notably, Madden previously left Maroon 5 in 2020 amid domestic violence-related issues. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility, as stated in the court documents.
