Marl's VolksParkFest Returns for German Unity Day: A Day of Fun, Culture, and Community
Marl is set to celebrate German Unity Day with a bang, as the 33rd VolksParkFest returns to the city on October 3rd. The festival promises a day filled with fun, culture, and community spirit, bringing together residents of all ages.
The main stage in the park will be the heart of the action, kicking off at 11 am with a diverse lineup of twelve acts. Expect a mix of music, dance, martial arts, and cheerleading performances to keep the energy high throughout the day.
Over at the Blue Light Court, a separate stage program will run from 12 noon. Highlights include a creative fire department fashion show, a presentation of rescue dogs, informative lectures, and puppet shows to entertain the little ones.
Visitors can also explore the old water mill area, where traditional crafts like milling, blacksmithing, beekeeping, and woodturning will be on display. The city administration has thanked sponsors Gelsenwasser, König Pilsener, Medienhaus Bauer, Volksbank Marl-Recklinghausen, Getränke Weidlich, Westenergie, and supporters of the Blue Light Court for making the event possible.
For those feeling energetic, Zumba Gold and kinderdisco sessions will be available. The day will wrap up with a party from 5 pm, led by DJ Digga. Earlier in the day, Marl's longest cake counter, an art and craft market, culinary delights, play stations, and the 'Allee of Associations' will be featured. Aid organizations will also be present with vehicles and stands, including a Bobby car track and reanimation courses.
The VolksParkFest promises a packed day of entertainment, culture, and community spirit. With something for everyone, it's an event not to be missed. Mark your calendars for October 3rd and join the celebration in Marl.
