Markkleeberg's Cycling Event Returns: Pedal Power from Sept 3-9

Markkleeberg residents are gearing up for their annual city cycling event, kicking off this Sunday and running until September 9th. Last year, nearly 200 locals pedaled a combined total of 40,000 kilometers, and this year promises to be just as active.

Participants are encouraged to cycle as much as they can, either solo or in groups, and record their kilometers. The main event culminates in a lantern ride during the lantern festival, adding a festive touch to the physical activity. Last year's success has set high expectations for this year's event. Meanwhile, in neighboring Leipzig, the city cycling event begins at the start of September.

Markkleeberg's city cycling event, taking place from September 6 to 9, 2023, encourages residents to get active and contribute to the city's collective cycling kilometers. The event ends on a high note with a lantern ride, making it a fun and inclusive community activity.
