The image shows a man with a beard and mustache on a TV screen, with a dark background. His face is clearly visible, with his eyes looking directly at the viewer and his lips slightly parted. His hair is long and dark, and his beard is neatly trimmed. He has a serious expression on his face, and he is wearing a white shirt.

Mark Holden's dramatic transformation stuns fans in Melbourne

Mark Holden, once a familiar face on Australian Idol, was recently seen in Melbourne looking very different. Known for his polished image and catchphrase 'touchdown' during his judging days, the former star now sports a grey beard and tinted glasses. Fans barely recognised him as he walked through the city. Holden served as a judge on Australian Idol from 2003 to 2007, working alongside Marcia Hines and Kyle Sandilands. He later called that lineup the show's best. But his time on the panel ended abruptly when he was sacked during the programme's peak. He publicly blamed fellow judge Ian 'Dicko' Dickson for his exit.

In 2022, he appeared on *Sunrise* and spoke warmly about the show's reboot. His enthusiasm for the revival contrasted with his own departure years earlier. Recently, photos surfaced of Holden in the studio with Anthony Callea, the 2004 *Australian Idol* runner-up. The two were working on new music together. Holden's once-dark hair has since turned light grey, and his signature slicked-back style has given way to a rugged, salt-and-pepper beard.

Holden's latest appearance marks a shift from his polished Australian Idol days. His collaboration with Callea suggests he remains active in music, though details about his career since 2007 remain limited. The former judge's changed look has sparked fresh interest in his current projects.
