Marianne Vos secures the yellow jersey in the Tour de France Femmes by clinching the triumphant uphill dash during stage 1.
Marianne Vos from Visma-Lease a Bike clinched a thrilling victory in the first stage of the 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. The 78.8km race, which started in Brest, saw Vos take the lead in the overall general classification (GC) and the coveted yellow jersey (Maillot Jaune).
Vos' triumphant ride saw her overtake Kim Le Court-Pienaar in the final metres, with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot finishing third. The initial GC standings after Stage 1 were:

- Kim Le Court-Pienaar (AG Insurance-Soudal)
- Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma-Lease a Bike)

Notably, Vos wore the leaders' yellow jersey for five days during the 2022 edition of the Tour de France Femmes.
The final 5km of the stage was dominated by Visma-Lease a Bike, setting the pace for the team. In the final 800 metres, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot launched a move, but Vos managed to overtake her rival in the steepest section of the climb.
The race was not without its dramatic moments. Several riders, including Juliette Labous and Aude Biannic, crashed in the neutral zone before the race started. Maud Rijnbeek led solo for a while, earning two mountain classification points before being absorbed by the bunch.
Elise Chabbey won the polka dot mountains jersey for stage 2, thanks to her victory in the sprint to the top of the Côte de Cadoudal.
As the peloton rolls out of Brest tomorrow, Vos will wear the yellow leader's jersey, aiming to defend her position and continue her impressive run in the Tour de France Femmes.
