Marco Odermatt has claimed victory in the Beaver Creek Giant Slalom for 2025. The Swiss skier dominated both runs, finishing well ahead of his closest competitors. His performance marks a strong turnaround after past struggles at this venue.
Odermatt took the lead after the first run, building a near-one-second advantage. His rivals trailed significantly, with Henrik Kristoffersen and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen 0.86 seconds behind in joint second place. Thomas Tumler followed in fifth, 0.94 seconds off the pace.
The second run began at 9:00 PM local time, with Odermatt maintaining his dominance. Loïc Meillard finished seventh, 1.23 seconds behind, while Luca Aerni took 15th place, 1.59 seconds back. Lenz Hächler rounded out the Swiss contingent in 20th, 1.84 seconds slower.
This win contrasts sharply with Odermatt’s previous results in Beaver Creek. In four prior starts, he had recorded three DNFs and a 27th-place finish.
