Marc Siebert officially honored as the "Ikea Prince," recipient of the Quirinus Star accolade.
Fresh Take:
Marc Siebert, famously known as the Kappesköpp leader, once Kaarster's merry Carnival Prince, and the man behind numerous jolly events, was in great company. The first to congratulate him were the Quirinusstern award recipient Jakob Beyen (former president of the Carnival Committee), KA wagon master Karl-Heinz Geißler, Oliver Lebioda, and former Prince Manfred Schlaak. The evening was hosted by KA vice-president Sabine Roeb.
Organized by Christel Münzberger and Claudia Kievits from StuP, the event featured stellar performances by the StuP dance groups - Quiriunssternchen, Quirinusteens, and Große Tanzgarde. The highlight of the evening was StuP chairman Dieter Hahn presenting the Quirinusstern to the elated Marc Siebert. Mayor Reiner Breuer's laudation was as entertaining as ever: "Despite moving to neighboring Kaarst years ago, your life's journey reads like a love letter to Neuss and its carnival. You're a true Neusser and a genuine local," said the mayor. "But you truly took off in 2010/2011 as Kaarst's Carnival Prince, Marc I., with your blue and yellow cap that earned you the endearing title of 'IKEA Prince' among Neuss carnivalists." Breuer reminisced about the famous kidnapping of Princess Martina I. by Neuss' city and prince's guard. "County commissioner Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke had to dress as a chicken and demand 50 liters of beer from you to get her back. That's a story for the carnival history books!"
Marc Siebert humorously thanked the mayor: "Applause, please, for our mayor, Reiner Breuer - the George Clooney of mayors! I've always wanted to say that from the stage!" He also acknowledged many distinguished guests, including County Commissioner Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, City Dean Father Hans-Günter Korr, "Kappesköpp" CEO Jürgen Schmitz, and his mother Christa Siebert. Special words were reserved for his partner Daniela Kleinehr: "We're a dream team. And I just noticed that Saint Quirinus on the Quirinusstern is whispering in my ear that he wants to be a part of your award too, at least a little bit." With such heartwarming support, it's clear that Marc Siebert continues to pour his heart into Neuss' carnival!
