Marc Gatcomb earns second NHL call-up with Islanders this season

Marc Gatcomb has been recalled by the New York Islanders from their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders. The 25-year-old forward previously made a brief NHL appearance earlier this season. His return follows a productive stretch in the minors, where he contributed both goals and assists.

Gatcomb first featured for the Islanders on October 11, playing a single game against the Washington Capitals. After that, he returned to Bridgeport, where he has spent most of the campaign.

The move marks Gatcomb’s second NHL stint with the Islanders this season. His promotion follows a steady run of form in the AHL, where he averaged over 0.5 points per game. The team will now assess whether he can secure a more permanent role in the NHL lineup.
