Football Year for Bayern Captain Neuer Ends Early - Manuel Neuer’s season ends early with hamstring injury at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer will miss the rest of the season after suffering a muscle injury. The setback occurred during a 2-2 draw with Mainz 05, forcing the goalkeeper to sit out the remaining matches. Meanwhile, the club has confirmed no changes to its coaching staff, with Vincent Kompany staying at the helm until at least 2029.

Neuer’s injury happened in the closing stages of the Mainz match, where he tore a muscle fibre in his right hamstring. The club’s medical team later ruled him out for the season, ending his campaign early.

Urbig now steps in as Bayern’s first-choice goalkeeper for the season’s final match. The team will then prepare for a January friendly before returning to league action against Wolfsburg. Neuer’s injury leaves him out of contention until next season, while Kompany’s long-term contract ensures stability in the dugout.
