Strapped into the fiery hot seat of "Who Wants to Win a Milly?" and gunning for the Jackpot. That was the burning ambition shared by Jannik Kuhle from Münster. The student graced the RTL show's "Christmas Special" stage in December 2024. Unfortunately, Kuhle's reality show debut ended on a sour note: The Joker he bet on flubbed the answer to the 8,000 Euro question, despite assurances of his absolute certainty. Consequently, Kuhle scooped up 500 euros - and three unused Jokers. This flub makes him one of the show's most significant disappointments.

On Monday's "Surprise Special," Kuhle received a second chance, defying the rule that a contestant can't make a comeback. "But no rule without exceptions," noted host Günther Jauch. Back in the studio were Kuhle and Stephan Landkammer, the contestant who provided the incorrect answer in the "Christmas Special," along with Theo Kuhle, father of our returnee player. Instead of trading blows over the incorrect answer, Kuhle and Landkammer maintained camaraderie. The latter made sure Kuhle could battle it out on "Who Wants to Win a Milly?" once more. "After the show, I hardly slept. I wanted to make it up to Jannik because he has a heart of gold, and he forgave me immediately," Landkammer reminisced.

"Who Wants to Win a Milly?": Contestant Aims to Conquer His Demons

Jannik Kuhle's second dance with "Who Wants to Win a Milly?" began rocky. He struggled to tackle a Formula 1 question and needed audience assistance to answer a film question. The same 8,000 Euro question that hindered him initially resurfaced, proving to be a formidable challenge once more. Its riddle read: "The stated goal of the 'Mission Silver Locks' started by three elder gentlemen in November was the whereabouts of...? A: ver.di in the DGB, B: Wirtz at Bayer 04, C: The Left in the Bundestag, D: Catholics in the Church". Using his powers of elimination, Kuhle worked up a hunch for answer A, but then decided to roll the dice with his extra Joker. "I'd like someone with real knowledge to step up. I've got to shake off my Milly trauma," Kuhle quipped. Indeed, a man from the audience came forward to provide the proper response being about The Left in the Bundestag.

Kuhle deployed his last two Jokers on the 32,000 Euro question. Oozing confidence, it read: "The collectible card 'Pikachu with gray felt hat' created a mania in whose souvenir shop in 2023? A: Van Gogh Museum, B: Pablo Picasso Museum, C: Gustav Klimt Museum, D: Albrecht Dürer Museum". When the 50:50 Joker left him with two options remaining, the contestant - much to his father's dismay - took a gamble. "He's still rolling the dice. It's driving me nuts," shouted Theo Kuhle. However, this round, luck favored our intrepid hero. With his newfound stash, Jannik Kuhle plans to jet-set off on a holiday and wrap up his studies. He's also elated to have triumphed over his Milly trauma.
