The long-awaited sequel to the popular film "Der Schuh des Manitu," titled "Das Kanu des Manitu," is set to release in theaters on Thursday. This comedic western adventure, directed by Michael Herbig, promises a thrilling ride filled with laughter, action, and a touch of the unexpected.

The plot revolves around the central heroes, Abahachi (Michael “Bully” Herbig) and his white blood brother Ranger (Christian Tramitz). As the Apache chief and ranger, respectively, they continue their quest for peace and justice. However, their mission becomes more challenging when a new gang, led by the Boss (Jessica Schwarz), sets out to steal the legendary "Canoe of Manitou."

In a surprising turn of events, the heroes are rescued by their loyal friend Dimitri (Rick Kavanian), the lovable Greek restaurant owner, and his new assistant Mary (Jasmin Schwiers). This rescue marks the beginning of an even bigger adventure, as the heroes join forces to overcome various conflicts and misunderstandings in search of the answers to life’s important questions.

The film features a host of notable characters, including the one-eyed sheriff (Friedrich Mücke) and his deputy (Kavanian), as well as American actor Alan Tafoya, who brings an emotional moment to the film, promoting understanding between peoples.

Notable returning characters include Winnetouch (Herbig), who now runs a dance and fencing school, and the grumbling Bavarian blood brother Ranger (Tramitz). The villainous Santa Maria (Sky du Mont), who sank in the swamp at the end of "Der Schuh des Manitu," also makes a miraculous resurrection in the sequel.

"Das Kanu des Manitu" pays homage to Westerns based on Karl May's novels made in the 1960s, Indiana Jones, and works of Louis de Funès. The film is filled with dance numbers, songs, and several film quotes, making it a delightful ode to the genre.

The premiere of "Das Kanu des Manitu" took place in Munich, attended by around 3,000 guests. The event was a fitting celebration for the much-anticipated sequel, which runs about 1 hour and 28 minutes and is written by Herbig, Kavanian, and Tramitz.

As the film prepares to hit theaters, fans of the original can look forward to a hilarious continuation of the adventures of Abahachi and Ranger, with new challenges, characters, and a heartwarming message of unity.
