Manitoba temporarily halts acceptance of applications for Employer Services through its Provincial Nominee Program.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has announced that it will resume accepting new applications for its Employer Services stream on August 5, 2025. This decision comes after a temporary pause in application intake, which began on July 4, 2022, to manage high application volumes and improve processing efficiency.

The MPNP's Employer Services stream is designed to facilitate the immigration of skilled workers to Manitoba. It offers a pathway for international skilled workers to work and live in the province, providing a competitive edge for Manitoba employers in the global labour market.

To be eligible for the MPNP's Employer Services stream, candidates must meet several criteria. They must hold a long-term, full-time job offer that aligns with Manitoba's employment and wage standards for the occupation. Candidates must also have completed post-secondary education and/or training relevant to the occupation (or as specified by the employer).

Foreign nationals must obtain licensure or certification from the relevant regulatory body if required for the position. Candidates must also have at least two years of work experience relevant to the occupation, or other relevant employer-identified experience gained within the past five years.

Another important requirement is the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB). Candidates must achieve the required CLB for their NOC TEER classification. The National Occupation Classification (NOC) is used by the Canadian federal government to categorise occupations, with TEER 0 being the highest skilled occupations and TEER 5 being the least skilled.

The MPNP is prioritizing overseas workers holding confirmed job offers from Employer Services-approved Manitoba employers when issuing Invitations to Apply (ITAs). This stream helps Manitoba employers attract and retain top international skilled workers, supporting Manitoba's economic growth by providing employers with access to a global talent pool.

It's important to note that this pause does not affect provincial nominee candidates whose employers have already submitted applications. However, foreign workers whose employers intended to support their nomination between July 4, 2022, and August 5, 2025, must delay application submission until August 5 or later.

The MPNP's Employer Services stream plays a significant role in facilitating immigration to Manitoba for skilled workers. With the resumption of application intake on August 5, 2025, the programme looks forward to continuing to support Manitoba employers and the province's economic growth.
