Manitoba Invites 862 Skilled Workers to Address Labour Shortages

Manitoba recently issued 862 invitations to skilled worker candidates through its Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This occupation-specific draw targeted in-demand sectors to address labour shortages and support workforce stability.

The draw was employer-driven, with 279 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued to candidates invited through strategic recruitment initiatives. These initiatives focus on candidates with specific professional experience needed in Manitoba or strong French language proficiency.

A total of 583 LAAs were issued to healthcare-related occupations or home support workers and caregivers. Additionally, 180 LAAs were issued under the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective PNP Candidates (TPP).

Candidates were invited under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. However, some candidates may not have received invitations due to incomplete or expired language test results, missing invitation numbers, or failure to provide proof of licensing for regulated professions. Notably, 203 LAAs were given to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

The MPNP's strategic recruitment initiatives aim to fill labour shortages in Manitoba. This recent draw demonstrates the province's commitment to supporting workforce stability by inviting candidates with in-demand skills and experience.
