The Mandaue City Government has proposed a supplemental budget of P218 million for 2025, focusing on key priority projects aimed at improving infrastructure, public services, and beautification efforts.

The major projects and their allocations are as follows:

  1. Provision of food assistance to households: ₱60 million
  2. Formulation of detailed engineering design for the new city hospital: ₱45 million
  3. Procurement of heavy equipment for drainage maintenance and other projects: ₱30 million
  4. Improvement and upgrading of the Mandaue City Sports Complex: ₱23 million
  5. Beautification of center islands and development of green open spaces: ₱18 million
  6. Lease of garbage compactors and dump trucks: ₱10 million
  7. Tipping fees for solid waste management: ₱10 million
  8. Installation of solar-powered street lamps: ₱5 million
  9. Provision of asphalt mix for road maintenance in barangays: ₱5 million
  10. Procurement of construction supplies for city and barangay repairs: ₱5 million
  11. Soil testing for the sports oval and proposed Mandaue City College campus: ₱5 million
  12. Procurement of aggregate supplies for repairs and maintenance: ₱2 million

These projects collectively aim to enhance waste management, support social welfare, improve sports and public infrastructure, and foster sustainable energy use through solar lighting, alongside road and general city maintenance.

Notably, a significant allocation is for the purchase of heavy equipment for the desilting program. Additionally, around P20 million is earmarked for the Mandaue City Sports Complex for refurbishment and upgrading. The budget also includes provisions for the lease of additional dump trucks for broader garbage collection efforts across the city.

Meanwhile, the City Hall employees may receive a Charter Day celebration bonus, although the budget for this is still under review by the City Budget Management Office. The list of qualified recipients for this bonus is still being finalized.

Furthermore, the proposed budget will be sourced from accumulated savings from 2016 to 2024. Charter Month incentives will be given to all personnel, including job order employees who have served from July 1 to Aug. 30, barangay health workers, and clean and green workers.

Salaries for 10 departments were released on Friday, after being delayed for a week. The suggested bonus has been endorsed by the City Administrator and is with the City Council for approval. However, the amount of the bonus has yet to be determined.
