Manchester United Secures Slovenian Striker Benjamin Sesko for £74 Million
Manchester United has bolstered its attack with the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old, who is considered one of the most promising talents in world football, has signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils, keeping him at the club until June 2030.
The transfer fee is reported to be around €85 million (approximately £74-75 million), with a sell-on clause benefiting Leipzig on future transfers. The deal includes a guaranteed payment of £66.3 million, with the rest in add-ons.
Sesko, who was RB Leipzig's top young scorer last season with 21 goals in 45 appearances, is excited about joining a club with a rich history and a positive team environment. He expressed his belief that Manchester United is the perfect place to reach his maximum potential and fulfill his ambitions.
The Slovenian international, who has 41 caps and 16 goals for his national team, is expected to lead the attack under manager Ruben Amorim. Amorim confirmed that Sesko is ready to start for United's Premier League opener against Arsenal shortly after his signing.
Sesko is Manchester United's third major signing in attack, following Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. He arrives at Old Trafford and finds a positive energy and family environment, eager to connect with his teammates to achieve success together.
