Obituary: Roger Anthony Robinson

Roger Anthony Robinson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and longtime resident of Manchester, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2025. He was 84 years old.

Born on September 1, 1940, at his family farm in Silver Creek, Roger spent his early years in the heart of rural Iowa. He attended Iowa State University and later served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965.

Roger returned to Iowa and farmed near Masonville for many years, a profession he loved deeply. He was a dedicated member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan for a significant part of his life.

Roger was married to Carol Ann Schroder on August 2, 1964, in West Union. Together, they raised two children, Christopher and Dr. Hilary. The family also includes grandchildren Christopher Michael Roy and Liam Shaun Roy.

Roger is survived by his wife Carol, son Christopher, daughter Dr. Hilary, brother James, sisters Marilyn Meline and Donna Wolmutt, sisters-in-law Kathy Meyer and Gwen Schroder, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, a sister, and a niece.

Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his passion for golfing was evident in his regular games with friends and morning coffee groups.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Scot Christiansen and the caring staff at Care Initiatives Hospice of Manchester for their support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. The Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan, Iowa. Inurnment with Military Rites will take place at Silver Creek Cemetery - Masonville, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Care Initiatives Hospice of Manchester or Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan.

Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for farming, family, and friends will live on in the memories of those who knew him best.
