Manchester City Bolsters Coaching Staff Ahead of Club World Cup

Manchester City has strengthened its coaching staff with the addition of Pep Lijnders and James French, ahead of the Club World Cup. The duo, who have accumulated extensive experience in their respective roles, are expected to be valuable assets for Pep Guardiola and his team.

Pep Lijnders, previously known for his stint as Jürgen Klopp's assistant coach at Liverpool, has been appointed as Guardiola's new assistant coach at Manchester City. Lijnders' previous role at Liverpool is a significant part of his coaching background, providing him with valuable experience before his current role at Man City.

Lijnders' appointment comes after Guardiola initially considered other candidates for the assistant coach position. However, recognising Lijnders' capabilities and hands-on approach with players, he was appointed to the role.

Hugo Viana, the Director of football at Manchester City, is pleased and confident in the new additions to the team. He believes that the talent, application, work ethic, and commitment of Pepijn and James align with Guardiola's values for football.

Lijnders had a brief stint as the head coach at RB Salzburg for part of last season, but was dismissed in December. Despite this, his experience and expertise have not gone unnoticed, and he has now found a new home at Manchester City.

James French, Liverpool's former first-team opposition analyst, has also joined Manchester City's backroom staff. This move is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge and insight to the club, further strengthening its coaching team.

Manchester City's Club World Cup campaign starts against Moroccan side Wydad on June 18. With the addition of Lijnders and French, the club is well-prepared to face the challenges ahead.

Football, a key sport for Manchester City, gained further strength with the addition of Pep Lijnders and James French to the coaching staff, as they prepares for the Club World Cup, specifically the European-leagues' Premier League team. Pep Lijnders, previously a notable assistant coach for Liverpool in the European-leagues, was appointed as Guardiola's new assistant coach, a position where he is anticipated to make valuable contributions for the Club World Cup campaign.
