MAN Truck & Bus pumps €300M into Europe's biggest service network overhaul
MAN Truck & Bus is set to invest €300 million by 2030 in its largest-ever expansion of the European service network. The funding will upgrade existing sites, establish new service hubs, and prepare for electric mobility. Key markets for the rollout include Germany, France, the UK, and six other countries across the continent.
The company currently operates around 1,200 service and sales locations in Europe, employing roughly 7,000 staff. By 2030, MAN aims to ensure that nearly 80% of customers are within a 30-minute drive of the nearest service centre. This push includes reducing travel times and improving regional coverage.
Digitisation plays a major role in the upgrade. Service advisors and technicians will receive iPads, while app-based tools and artificial intelligence streamline workshop processes. Around one-third of the €300 million budget will focus on electromobility and digitalisation.
MAN is also expanding its battery repair centres, with facilities already running in several countries. The goal is full European coverage by 2030. Additionally, the company has partnered with E.ON to install public charging points for electric trucks at many service sites.
Sustainability measures include fitting solar panels, LED lighting, and modern heating systems at locations. By 2026, two-thirds of MAN's sites will be ready for electric mobility.
The €300 million investment marks the company's biggest service network upgrade to date. Improved digital tools, expanded electric infrastructure, and better regional access will shape the network by 2030. The changes aim to meet growing demand while supporting the shift to electric commercial vehicles.
